3 Days Ngorongoro and Tarangire Safari itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater

The driver-guide from Focus East Africa will meet you at your hotel in Arusha, where he will deliver to you the short briefing on our 3 Days Ngorongoro and Tarangire Safari. After this, we start our drive to Northern Tanzania to the famous Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area.

We wake up early to beat the traffic jam in the city, with a driving speed of mostly 50 km per hour till we join the highway heading to Serengeti, passing through small towns and villages and having a close view of Lake Manyara as we continue with our drive.

After 3 hours of driving, we will reach the Ngorongoro gate, where we have a stop for relaxing as we clear at the gate. After we continue have a stop at Ngorongoro Crater Viewpoint as we observe the inner part of the world’s largest crater from an aerial view.

We continue to the descending point where we will go for the game drive deep in the caldera. This is home to different animals like Rhinos, Elephants, buffalo, and Zebras. When done with the game drive, you drive out of the crater and continue to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Ngorongoro to Tarangire

After breakfast, we shall transfer to the Tarangire National Park. The park stretches along the banks of River Tarangire, mostly composed of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. The park’s natural vegetation is mainly composed of Acacia woodlands and giant Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the southern sections.

Both the river and the swamps attract wildlife, especially during Tanzania’s dry season. The park is undisputedly known to have some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. There are also several rare wildlife species at the Tarangire, including the Greater Kudu, the Fringe-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. After your morning game drive, you will have a picnic lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. You will later retire to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Tarangire National Park to Arusha / Departure

You will wake early for a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. You will then return to the lodge for your breakfast, packing up and check-out. We will then transfer back to Arusha.
