Leopard, the clever predator is frequently spotted in both grasslands and woodlands. Their habitats are usually close to the pasture. Their favourite preys are antelopes and impalas. They rarely predate on large herbivores like wildebeests, zebras and warthogs unless it is a self-defence. They live in small groups of three to four individual headed by the female parent. The black rhino is less social animal. The chance of finding it in crowded places is very small. You have to drive past shrubs and scrubs where it like to camouflage. Visiting Lake Magadi; This is a shallow soda lake in the southwest of the crater. Its name (Magadi) come from a Maasai language for salt. This is because Soda Lake hosts blue-green algae which are the source of food of these awesome birds. The main sources of water for Lake Magadi are the streams the drain water from the crater rim into this magnificent lake. Ngoitokitok spring is another source of water for Lake Magadi. This is because it is not managed by the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA). Here is the entrance or conservation fee;

East African citizens of or above the age of 16 years are charged a fee of 11,800 Tanzanian Shillings while children aged between 5 and 15 years are charged conservation fee of 2360 Tanzania Shillings. Children below 5 years are not charged entrance fees for safaris in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Non East African citizens are charged entrance fee of 70.8 USD for those above the age of 16 years while an entrance fee for children aged between 5 and 15 years is 23.6 USD and children below 5 years are not charged, An Adventurous Journey through Ngorongoro Crater.

Residents or expatriates of or above the age of 16 years are charged an entrance fee of 35.4 USD while children aged between 5 and 15 years are charged an entrance of 11.8 USD and children below 5 years are not charged anything.

Note that; Entrance fees are payable per entry per head and are valid in 24 hours. Entry permits issued are valid for one entry, a half day experience at Ngorongoro Crater.
