Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Materuni Waterfalls, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti Safari

Day 1: Arrival, Materuni Waterfalls Visit, Transfer to Ngorongoro Highlands

Upon arrival at the airport (Morning arrival time), your Tanzania safari guide shall be ready to pick you and welcome you to Tanzania. After a short brief, proceed to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro for a Materuni waterfalls hike for a chance to hike through communities whilst enjoying scenic views of say the Materuni waterfalls, as well as views of the Kilimanjaro Mountain on a clear day.

Enjoy a local lunch, and thereafter proceed to transfer to the Ngorongoro Highlands. Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Drive, Maasai Bomas Visit

After breakfast, with your packed lunch head out for full day game drive in the crater. You will descend 600 meters into the crater which is home to numerous wildlife species like the big 5 which includes lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos and elephants. Other wildlife species in Ngorongoro include hyenas, wildebeests, antelopes, cheetahs, antelopes, zebras, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs among others.

There are also different bird species which can be spotted around Ngorongoro crater like ostriches as well as flamingos common along the shores of Lake Magadi. After your game drive around the Ngorongoro Crater Tanzania, you will enjoy a Maasai Bomas visit to interact with the locals, and then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park, Game Drive in Serengeti Park Tanzania

After breakfast, check out and proceed to transfer to the Serengeti national park’s central area famous for the big cats and diverse wild game. The great wildebeest migration around this time expected to move through the East and Central Serengeti towards the southern Ndutu area.

Enjoy a picnic lunch, and a short introductory game drive in Serengeti National Park for wild game viewing. Thereafter, proceed to the camp/lodge in Serengeti National Park whilst looking out for wild game including lion prides and so much more; check in and relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, you will head out with your packed lunch for a full day Serengeti National Park safari experience. Engage in a morning game drive around Serengeti national park and look out for the big 5 in the savannah plains as well as other wildlife species. You will have a picnic lunch ahead of another wildlife experience in the national park.

Later in the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure Flight to Kilimanjaro

After having breakfast at your lodge, you shall check out, and proceed for a transfer to the Seronera Airstrip for your departure flight scheduled at 11:00AM, all the while looking out for wild game in the park, bringing your safari to an end.
