This is because there are various cultural ways of life in Tanzania which are worth visiting. These cultural aspects include; arts, languages, religion, wearing styles and other traditional and cultural ways of life which are attractive and interesting. Cultural tourism in Tanzania can be discussed better in the following ways;

Visiting Maasai people and learning their traditional and cultural ways of life can be one of the best cultural tourism in Tanzania. This can be one of the rarely available opportunities to visit local families and experience the cultural ways of life in African countries.

It is certainly a must see list when people visiting the Maasai and experiencing their ways of life.  Being one of the nomadic and pastoralist society, the Maasai people are worth visiting due to their unique ways of life in east Africa. The Nilotic ethnic group is largely living in extended families whereby they are having their uniform systems of dividing duties to their societies. Some are cattle keepers, cookers and other keep on advising youth on the best ways of life.

They are firmly and cemented partriachally in nature whereby the elders Maasai men are responsible in guiding their families to the best ways of life basing on their values and customs. To them, being rich is having many cattle as well as children and anyone who is not having one of them is considered a mere person. They believe that God blessed them and enabled them to afford all the cattle under the earth.

The Maasai people are commonly the monotheistic. They believe to have their own God who is known as Enkai or Engai. They believe that their god is the mostly benevolent God who is said to be manifesting himself by using different colors basing on the feelings that he is experiencing. They also believe that every color has its meaning; for example, they believe that red color is manifested and identified with God’s irritation. Also, the black and dark blue colors mean that the God is disposed very clearly towards men.

The traditional wearing styles of Tanzanians is also something that can be manifested culturally. Also, the traditional wearing styles among Tanzanians shows how rich they are in their cultural and traditional ways of life. The traditional ways of outfits differ from one tribe to another despite the fact that there is the common wearing style for men and women.

The traditional wearing styles for men is commonly referred to as Kanzu while Kanga is the common wearing outfit for women. The clothing is mainly the white colored robe or the attire worn by most men around the east African states where Tanzania is also situated.

The traditional dances is also one of the cultural tourisms in Tanzania. The Tanzanian traditional dances differ basing on the tribe despite having the common ways of dancing. The visitors and tourists can visit and experiences a lot of traditional dances in Tanzania. As it has been said earlier, every tribe is having their peculiar ways of dancing (traditional dances). For example, the traditional dancing style of the Nyasa is called Mganda dance. This is also the traditional dance for the Manda tribe.

The Nyakyusa that are mostly settled in the Southern highlands are also having their traditional dances. They includes; the Ing’oma, Mambulo, Ipenenga, Magosi and the Samba. They are practicing these traditional dances on their ways and the community members are highly enjoying.

Also, there is a Haya tribe which is located in Kagera region, the lake – zone region. The Haya are also having their traditional dances that acts as one of the attractive traditional values of the Tanzanians. The traditional dance of the Haya is called Ngoma.

Languages is also one of the cultural and traditional aspects of the Tanzanians. This also one of the cultural tourist’s attractions that acts as a catalyst towards tourist’s visitation of Tanzania. Normally, there are various languages that are used in Tanzania whereby every tribe is having their language.

A part from having more than 120 tribes in Tanzania, there are more than 120 languages being spoken in every corner of the country. It is believed that every tribe is having its language and other languages are considered to be shared commonly.

Despite the fact that every tribe is having their local language, Tanzanians have managed to be joined and cemented by a common Bantu language known as Kiswahili. This is the language which is considered the unifying tool for all Tanzanians as well as foreigners who are interested to visit in Tanzania. Some decides to learn Kiswahili on their own while in their mother countries while other learn it when they are in Tanzania. So, language has been one of the unifying factor and one of the interesting factors for cultural tourism in Tanzania.
