Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge

Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge is the only Budget lodge/accommodation in the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, which is located a few kilometers away from the conservation headquarters. Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge, though not on the crater rim, one can have a good view of the conservation area, especially at sunset.

The lodge has 24 rooms, which are all self-contained with private verandas overlooking the scenic view of the Ngorongoro, a wood-burning stove that generates warmth for the guests at night, and also provides hot water bottles which can be filled upon the guest’s request.

Rhino Lodge has a stocked bar and large dining room with a local African setting, two campfires where guests come and enjoy storytelling and exchanging their experiences. We serve all the courses during our meal time; there is balancing, and some days a buffet is served, while on other days each guest is requested to make their own orders differently.

There is a great Maasai experience with a lot of action-packed dances that entertain our guests daily in the evening. Guests are allowed to freely join the performance.

Location

Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge is located a few meters away from the crater Rim small drive from the main gate of Lodore, 20 minutes’ drive to the Seneto descent road, which descends to the crater. Security is very tight and safe since it’s just a throw of a stone from the Ngorongoro police station.

Our guests enjoy the great view of the untouched high montane forest, not forgetting Mount Oldeani covering the whole background. Buffalo are our frequent visitors who graze in the Rhino Lodge compound daily; guests have free-sight game drives as they view more animals and birds from their verandas.
