Plantation Lodge is a mid-range accommodation found in the remote area outside the Ngorongoro conservation area in the Tanzania region. The lodge is situated just 20 minutes’ drive away (12km) from the entrance of ngorongoro and close to Karatu village in the Ngorongoro Highlands.
The lodge is set on 5 acres of landscape surrounded by a lush green colorful garden (magical mature). It is located in a perfect place with a vintage point of view and easy access to the four national parks in Tanzania: Ngorongoro crater, Lake manyara national park, Tarangire and Serengeti national parks.
How to get there?
It takes approximately 3-4 hours’ drive on a tarmac road from Arusha to the lodge through mayukuni and karatu and 45 minutes to fly to the close lake manyara airstrip then 20 minutes’ drive to be transferred to the lodge.
About the lodge
Plantation lodge Ngorongoro consists of over 10 spacious and comfortable rooms and suites with the spectacular view of the garden that is built in a modern style with comfort in mind.
Rooms are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities of flushing toilets, hot and cold showers, mosquito nets, comfortable tropical wooden beds with clean and washed beddings, white pillows and duvets, free bottled water, slippers extinguishers, satellite mention but a few.
Rooms have private terraces, verandas and sitting areas; you relax while enjoying the stunning view over the gardens, Ngorongoro Park and the surrounding area.
There is a fireplace in the living room where guests relax and share experiences about the safari; it also provides warmth to visitors in the nights.
Rooms vary in different categories and sizes with single beds for individual guests, double/twin beds for sharing, as well as a group or family rooming options

The main building houses a restaurant that serves a variety of meals, including both international and African-inspired options to suit guests’ preferences; you can enjoy your meals in any location you choose, whether in the bush, garden, or on the verandas with a vintage view. They offer a Continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all served by well-trained, friendly, and organized staff.
A well-stocked bar with a shared lounge offering a variety of drinks, local ,cocktail , wines, spirits and international beers, you relax and sip the cocktail or monk tail while overlooking the stunning view of the colorful garden and surrounding area.
A blue-water Relaxing swimming pool that cools off the hot Ngorongoro afternoon; you relax on poolside beds and chairs as you enjoy the breezes of the surrounding areas.

About the park
Ngorongoro Crater is located in the northern part of Tanzania, near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the Great Rift Valley, covering a total area of 8,292 km and is 3 million years old. The crater is the best place in East Africa, with beautiful, breathtaking Views.
The park features various attractions, including the wild beast migration from the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Salei Plains, Olkarien Gorge, diverse flora and fauna, stunning scenery, and many more.
The park offers various categories of accommodation, including budget, mid-range, and luxury options that are convenient and affordable for guests visiting the area. The park contains short grasses with more highlands and other beautiful volcanoes.
The area has over 25,000 large animals, including 26 black rhinoceroses, more than 100 lions, 7,000 wildebeests, 4,000 zebras, 3,000 elands, and 3,000 Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles. The park is home to various animals, including the big five mammals of the world: lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard, and rhino, as well as zebra, impala, antelope, and various bird species.

The Park gives a stunning view of the Ngorongoro Crater since it’s the largest caldera in the world and the surrounding areas. There are more masaai mara pastoralists in Ngorongoro park . June –july and late January and February are the best month to travel in Tanzania for a safari especially Ngorongoro side
