Detailed Itinerary of 17 Days Kenya & Tanzania Safari Holiday
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel of stay. Depending on your time of arrival, you can opt for a Nairobi city tour visiting the Giraffe Centre and feed giraffes! Day 2: Drive to Amboseli national park, Game Drive
Drive Time: Approx. 3.5 hours
After breakfast, you shall proceed to Amboseli National Park which is about 4 hours away. With your packed lunch boxes, you shall enjoy an introductory game drive in Amboseli National Park to see wildlife species such as herds of elephants which this national park is known for, buffaloes, lions, zebras and so much more. You will also enjoy views of Mt Kilimanjaro on your way to your lodge for check in and to have your dinner and to also spend the night at Amboseli Sentrim Camp for Budget, Amboseli Sopa Lodge for Mid-range.

Day 3: Full day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park, Walking Safari
Your full day adventure in Amboseli national park will begin with breakfast at your lodge and then your guide will drive you around the wilderness of the national park as you search for the different wildlife species such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, zebras, gazelles, kudu, giraffes, elands as well as various bird species.
You will have lunch and later you will have a guided walking safari for another wildlife viewing experience and to enjoy photography as you catch sight of the beautiful sunset with the back drop of Mt Kilimanjaro. After, enjoy yet an evening game drive as you return to your lodge for your dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Drive to Lake Nakuru national park, Game Drive
You will have breakfast at your camp and then check out of the lodge with a packed lunch as you continue your journey to Lake Nakuru national park across the rift valley escarpment as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. You will have an en route game drive during which you will see wildlife species such as giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, buffalos, antelopes, reedbucks, elands, impalas among others.
You will have game drive in Lake Nakuru national park and you will visit the flamingo filled Lake Nakuru which is a good birding spot to see flocks of flamingos along the lake shores as well as other bird species and wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains.

Day 5: Drive to Masai Mara national reserve, Game Drive
After your breakfast at the lodge, proceed for a transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve.
You will look out for wildlife species such as African big five like lions, leopards, Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos and other game as you drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight Sentrim Mara Camp for Budget, Mara Sopa Lodge for Mid-range.

Day 6: Full Day at Masai Mara national reserve, Maasai Cultural Tour
You will have an early breakfast at your lodge ahead of your game viewing activity in the open savannah plains of the reserve. You will search for a variety of wildlife species such as the big five which include lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos as well as other wildlife species such as such as giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, elands, zebras, topis among others.
You will enjoy your lunch after your morning game drive as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around the reserve and watch wildlife species grazing in the plains. After lunch, you will have a Maasai cultural tour introducing you to one of the most popular tribes and cultures in Africa. Thereafter, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 7: Transfer from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park
You will have a very early breakfast and checkout from the lodge early in the morning. You will be driven out of the reserve to the border of Isebania.
You will clear from the border customs office then after your guide in Tanzania will drive you to Serengeti national park. You will have en-route game drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at Tukaone Serengeti Camp for Budget, Central Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camp for Mid-range.

Day 8: Morning Game Drive in Serengeti National Park, Relaxed afternoon
After your breakfast early at your lodge, your guide will take you on a morning game viewing experience around the vast savannah plains of Serengeti national park where you will look for wildlife species like the big five and also wildebeests, hippos, elands, impalas, kudu, waterbucks, zebras, gazelles, giraffes and predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs among others.
You will have lunch at the camp, and spend the rest of the day relaxing. Opt for a late afternoon game drive in the national park to search for other wildlife species and your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 9: Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Olduvai Gorge
You will have breakfast before leaving Serengeti national park and driving to your next wildlife viewing destination which is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. With your packed lunch drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will enjoy an Ol Duvai Gorge visit for a lesson through history of mankind. Enjoy a game drive in the conservation area as you drive to your lodge for check in and an overnight stay at Hhando Coffee Lodge for Mid-range, Eileen’s Tree Inn for Budget.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater Drive, Maasai Bomas Visit
After breakfast, with your packed lunch head out for full day game drive in the crater. You will descend 600 meters into the crater which is home to numerous wildlife species like the big 5 which includes lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos and elephants. Other wildlife species in Ngorongoro include hyenas, wildebeests, antelopes, cheetahs, antelopes, zebras, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs among others.
There are also different bird species which can be spotted around Ngorongoro crater like ostriches as well as flamingos common along the shores of Lake Magadi. After your game drive around the Ngorongoro crater, you will enjoy a Maasai Bomas visit to interact with the locals, and then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 11: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Area, Materuni Waterfalls Hike
After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro area from where you shall proceed to enjoy a Materuni waterfalls visit at the foothills of the Kilimanjaro Mountain, all the while enjoying views of the mountain on a clear day. Walk through communities, scenic areas and the waterfalls, as well as views of the tallest mountain in Africa. Enjoy a local lunch, and thereafter drive to the lodge. Day 12: Ascend the Kilimanjaro
You shall be picked up from your hotel and be briefed about your Kilimanjaro hike. You shall proceed on a transfer to Kilimanjaro Mountain and start your hike. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. Look out for birdlife and colobus monkeys here.
Elevation: 5,500ft-9,000ft. Hike Time: 4-5 Hours. Montane Forest.

Day 13: Descend, Fly to Zanzibar (Own Booking)
Leave the rainforest glades and follow and ascend the path of open moorlands towards the Horombo encampment. Enjoy views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo. Look out for giant lobelias. After lunch at Mandara, descend and proceed on a transfer to JRO for your flight to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival in Zanzibar, our driver will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Dinner and an overnight stay at Tembo Hotel for Budget, Seyyida Hotel for Mid-range.

Day 14: Stone Town Tour, visit Prison Island and Spice tour
You will have breakfast at your hotel and after this you will start your day’s activities including a Stone Town tour.
You will also take a private boat from Stone town to Changuu island or Prison island where you will enjoy seeing the Giant tortoises. You will take a boat back from Changuu island back to Stone town.
On this day you will also engage in a spice tour as you explore the plantations where you will see different exotic spices and also get to know the uses of the spices like cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg among others. After the spice tour, you will drive to the amazing beach of Zanzibar Island. Check in, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
