6 Days Lake Natron & Serengeti Wildlife Safari in the northern part of Tanzania starts in Arusha and then continues to Lake Natron where you will have a hiking experience on the Ol donyo lengai volcano. You will also visit the famous Serengeti national park during your 6 days Lake Natron and Serengeti wildlife safari. Serengeti national park covers about 14750 square kilometers and is home to a variety of wildlife species such as the big 5 which can be seen during a safari. You will enjoy game drives around Serengeti national park during your safari.

During the safari, you will also visit the Ngorongoro crater and enjoy watching the predators like lions, leopards and cheetahs around the crater as they hunt. You will also see various bird species during your safari around the different destinations.

Your 6 days Lake Natron and Serengeti wildlife safari will end in Arusha after your wildlife viewing experience.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Lake Natron

Your guide will pick you up from the airport and welcome you for your safari. You will proceed to Lake Natron with a stop in Mto wa mbu town where you will interact with the locals and also visit the local market. You will also have an enroute lunch and later drive to Lake Natron where you will be driven to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Maasai giraffe ecolodge.

Day 2; Ol donyo lengai hike

You will have an experience of visiting Ol donyo lengai where you will hike to the top of the mountain. The climb on the mountain takes about 5 to 6 hours and when you get to the top of the mountain, you will enjoy seeing the crater and later start your descend.

You will have dinner and overnight at Maasai giraffe ecolodge.

Day 3; drive to Serengeti national park

After breakfast at your lodge, you will be driven to Serengeti national park which is a popular tourist destination in the northern part of Tanzania also known for the wildebeest migration. You will enjoy seeing different wildlife species like elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs among others during your safari in Serengeti national park.

Your lunch will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park and after lunch, you will enjoy a game drive around the national park and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges.

Day 4; full day in Serengeti national park

You will have breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for a full day of exploring the savannah plains and woodlands of Serengeti national park. You will enjoy seeing kopjes during your game drive in the national park as you look out for various wildlife species such as lions, leopards and cheetahs. You will have lunch after your morning game drive.

After lunch, you will engage in another game drive and look out for the different wildlife species around Serengeti national park such as elephants, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, lions, buffalos, elands, impalas, gazelles among others. You will return to your lodge after your game drive for dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges.

Day 5; drive to Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to Ngorongoro conservation area for more wildlife viewing experiences. You will have an optional stop at Ol duvai gorge where you will visit the archaeological site.

You will have your packed lunches with you and continue your drive into Ngorongoro crater where you will descend 600 meters into the crater for more wildlife viewing experiences. You will enjoy seeing the beautiful views around the crater during your game drive and look out for wildlife species like lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, antelopes, waterbucks, warthogs, elands, hyenas, gazelles among others. Lake Magadi is among the attractions in the Ngorongoro crater where you will enjoy seeing flamingos along its shores as well as other bird species. After your game drive in Ngorongoro crater, you will be driven to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Hhando coffee lodge.

Day 6; drive to Arusha

On the last day of your 6 days Lake Natron and Serengeti wildlife safari, your breakfast will be served at your lodge and after breakfast, you will continue your drive to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at the airport or your hotel in Arusha which will bring your safari to an end.
