8 Days Best of Tanzania safari takes place in the northern part of Tanzania where you will enjoy visiting different wildlife visiting destinations and seeing wildlife species such as the big 5 and also visit the world’s largest inactive crater.

During your 8 Days Best of Tanzania safari, you will start your tour in Arusha town and then drive to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will see various wildlife species in big numbers such as elephants, lions, leopards, antelopes, hippos, giraffes, rhinos and also visit the Ngorongoro crater here you will see flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Arusha

Your guide will pick you up from the airport and you will be briefed about your 8 days Tanzania safari. After you have been briefed about your safari, you will be driven to your hotel in Arusha where you will check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Arusha is a starting point for most of the safaris to the northern part of Tanzania. You will spend your 1st night of the 8 days Tanzania safari at Tulia boutique hotel and spa.

Day 2; drive to Ngorongoro conservation area

After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha during your 8 Days Best of Tanzania safari, you will be driven to the Ngorongoro conservation area where you will engage in various wildlife viewing experiences such as a game drive and a walking safari.

The Ngorongoro conservation area is home to the world’s largest inactive crater where different wildlife species can be seen in big numbers. After having lunch at your lodge, you will enjoy a game drive as you explore the beautiful landscape and see different wildlife species such as giraffes, impalas, zebras, elephants, antelopes, buffalos and many others. You will have your dinner and overnight at the end of the day at Hhando coffee lodge.

Day 3; crater tour

On the 3rd day of your 8 days Tanzania safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge as you prepare to descend into the Ngorongoro crater where you will enjoy seeing various wildlife species such as the big 5 like elephants, buffalos, rhinos, lions and leopards. Other wildlife species in the crater area include wildebeests, zebras, hippos, elands, hyenas, gazelles, waterbucks among others.

You will also enjoy seeing flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi which is found in the center of the crater. You will return to your lodge after exploring the Ngorongoro crater for dinner and overnight at Hhando coffee lodge.

Day 4; drive to Serengeti national park

Breakfast will be served at your lodge in the Ngorongoro conservation area and you will be driven to Serengeti national park which is another wildlife viewing destination in the northern part of Tanzania. You will enjoy a game drive in the national park where you can also see the big 5 like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos.

You will have lunch at your lodge in Serengeti national park and later engage in an afternoon game drive during which you will enjoy seeing various wildlife species such as zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, antelopes, serval cats, antelopes as well as different bird species. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Serengeti heritage luxury tented camps and lodges.

Day 5 to day 6; Serengeti national park

You will start your day with breakfast at your lodge and later your guide will drive you around Serengeti national park as you enjoy the scenery and watch the different wildlife species in the open savannah plains during your 8 days Tanzania safari. You will enjoy driving around the Seronera area which has a big number of wildlife species like lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, elands and many others.

During your 8 days Tanzania safari, you will also visit the retina hippo pool where you will see many hippos swimming in a pool. You will have lunch in the wild as you enjoy seeing wildlife grazing in the savannah plains. You will also enjoy seeing kopjes like the Simba kopjes where lions can be spotted. You will have dinner and overnight at Serengeti heritage luxury tented camps and lodges.

Day 7; morning game drive and drive to Arusha

After having breakfast at your lodge in Serengeti national park during your 8 days Tanzania safari, you will check out of the lodge and your guide will drive you around the game viewing tracks as you enjoy seeing various wildlife species which are very active during the morning such as antelopes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, warthogs, buffalos, lions among others.

You will proceed to Arusha after your morning game drive in Serengeti national park and you will check in at your hotel and have your dinner and overnight at Tulia boutique hotel and spa.

Day 8; Arusha national park and departure

You will have breakfast at your hotel in Arusha; you will proceed to Arusha national park which is about 1 hours’ drive from Arusha town. You will enjoy a walking safari in the national park and enjoy seeing wildlife species such as zebras, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, bushbucks, giraffes among others. You will also enjoy seeing Mount Meru which is found in the national park during your 8 days Tanzania safari.

After your walking safari experience during which you will enjoy moving on foot in the natural surroundings like the forests of Arusha national park, your guide will drive you back to Arusha which will bring your 8 days Tanzania safari to an end.
